Time off

Let me tell you one thing, living in Manila is a lot like love. Yes, you have the crazy nights, but most of the time it's just plain headache. So what do you do to bring that spark back when you first set eyes on the almost-New York-like skyline that is Manila night?.. You give yourself some space.

And everyone who's been around Manila for quite awhile knows that the closest "space" we have (and maybe the cheaper toll fee) away from the city is Tagaytay. 

The famous Taal Volcano. Perfect epitome of small but terrible.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I say a sight of a tree always leave me speechless.

People really drive all the way to Tagaytay for this.

Merry Vegas Christmas

I was very blessed to be able to spend the holidays with the people I love, in a place filled with so much excitement. Now, who said Vegas has lost its charm?

Better late than never, happy holidays everyone! Hope yours were filled with love, joy, thanksgiving, and happiness too. And to those who had quite a devastating season, have faith. There is always rainbow after the rain, and sunshine after the storm. It's only a few days away from 2012! Another opportunity for us to become our better selves, and learn from our mistakes.Wishing us all a blessed year ahead :)

Highway run

Long roadtrips are one of my favorite forms of travel. For me it creates a certain type of bond that a turbulating airplane thousands of feet above the ground could not, and it shows an unpredictable view that a ship at the middle of the sea would never.But what excites me most about a roadtrip are the discoveries that you make as you drive along that busy highway, or that dark, scary, crooked road whether it be from the people you're with, or from that mountain a couple of miles away. So..here are some photos that I took on my roadtrip to Vegas which I wanted to share with everyone (Or whoever is reading this. haha). I could not put into words how beautiful the highways of this part of America is.

Vivian Inspired

     What I am most enthusiastic about photography is its stillness. Don't get me wrong, I love videos too, but what makes a photograph so interesting for me is the fact that it is not moving. Nevertheless, it still captures a thousand words, like the old saying goes. Yet it is only you, the photographer, who knows the entire story. 

     Here's a few shots I took around the city (again!), inspired by this amazingly talented photographer named Vivian Maier. A lot of you may have heard of her already, but to those like me who just recently found out about this woman, she was a nanny during the 1950s in New York City who loved photography. Her work was apparently discovered in 2007 at a thrift auction in Chicago and from then on, wowed the world of photography and inspired many others. Many also believe that she was one of the first street photographers, much like The Sartorialist. What I love about her work is that they're all very genuine yet artistically mysterious. Yes, what you see is urban America in the late 20th century, but what you get could actually be worth telling more. My stuff here is probably not half as good as hers but we're trying to get there :">
